Although Cayman is most famously for its incredible beaches and glistening waters, there are many great activities to participate in and places to visit that should not be missed!
HISTORIAL HOUSES, PARKS AND NATURE TRAILS:
Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park: This historical and magnificent natural reserve allows you to experience a piece of Cayman’s history firsthand. Plan to spend the afternoon as there is a lot to take in. Make sure you look out for Cayman’s endangered Blue Iguana as you explore this incredible park. As you walk the trail you will be lead through a vibrant and colorful display of flora and fauna. Look out for many species of wildlife including a variety of birds and butterflies. Located within the grounds is Heritage Garden which is a replica of a traditional Cayman garden, letting you experience how life used to be in Cayman in years gone by. Remember to wear comfortable shoes!
Mastic Trail: Cayman’s Mastic Trail was the only available route for locals to use to get between Breakers and North Side over 100 years ago. It is approximately two miles in length and takes around 1-2 hours to walk one way. This un-spoilt nature trail allows you to experience a piece of Cayman’s history and is full of amazing wildlife and a selection of flora and fauna that is unique to the trail.
Pedro St. James: Known locally as "Pedro Castle", this 3-storey historical building was built in the 18th century by a wealthy Englishman using “slave labor” from Jamaica. Now owned by the Cayman Islands Government, the house can be viewed in all its’ original splendor. The property has much of its original furniture and authentic artifacts for visitors to see so you get a unique insight into how life would have been like long ago in Cayman’s history. There is a multi-sensory 3-D presentation available to visitors to the property which begins every hour from 10am-4pm.
Cayman Safari Adventures - A great way to meet local people and experience the Cayman culture firsthand. There is a minimum requirement or 2 and a maximum of 8 for each vehicle and guide.
SHOPPING, DINING and ENTERTAINMENT
Camana Bay -This cosmopolitan modern “town” is home to a host of shops, restaurants and family entertainment alike. Take a stroll through the grounds and enjoy the beautiful landscaping, water views and fountains (where you will often find children playing). This truly is a great place for the whole family, where you can shop for the latest fashions, stop off for lunch, see our Restaurant Guide for a selection of restaurants, and finish off the day taking in a movie at the Hollywood (six screen) Theatre.
Golf: There are 4 great golf courses in Grand Cayman as well as a “crazy golf” course for family fun!

Horse Riding: Enjoy a memorable horse-back ride along some of Cayman’s quietest and most untouched natural beaches or take a leisurely hack through a un-spoilt nature trail.
Black Pearl Skate & Surf Park – (By reservation only: Call 329-WAVE): Home to the world’s largest outdoor concrete skate park, offering skating fun for everyone from beginners through experts. Equipment is available to rent on site. The park also features a Waveloch Surf Machine that generates up to 11 foot waves.
Bowling & Roller Skating – King’s Sports Center - King’s Sports center has an on-site bowling alley an open Skate night on Saturdays and Sundays with music and disco themed lighting.
PLACES TO VISIT :
Rum Point: If you are looking for a relaxing day out then look no further. Rum Point is situated about 45 minutes away (by car) from George Town, on the more tranquil and secluded North Side of Grand Cayman. There are a selection of restaurants, water sports and activities to choose from or simply enjoy swinging in one of the hammocks.
Hell: Your trip to Cayman is not complete without a visit to Hell! Meet the Devil himself in the on-site gift store, situated in the heart of West Bay. Don’t forget to drop in to Hell’s own post office where you can send friends and family a postcard from Hell.
Tortuga Rum Factory - Experience the flavor of the Caribbean at Tortuga Rum Factory. Tortuga is famous world-wide for their succulent Rum Cake but they also offer a large selection of other products that make great souvenirs.
